Preface:

The sublimation printer is located at the Puyallup campus. It is a Epson ET-2760 that has been modified with sublimation ink and paper to print designs that can be heat pressed onto T-Shirts and mugs.

Tutorial:

Using the sublimation printer is fairly similar to using any other printer.

Create the design that you would like to print out.
- Note that this is restricted to the 8.5x11 size that the printer allows.
Upload the design into Publisher.
- This will work to allow for image manipulation and orientation.
Important: Flip the image horizontally.
- When the design is heat-pressed, the image will show up reflected horizontally compared to the design that is printed out. To ensure that the design is correct, make sure to reflect the image in Publisher.
Check the printer ink levels.
- If they are low, consult the sublimation printer ink tutorial.
Print out the image on sublimation paper.
- Make sure that the paper is oriented with the textured side up in the paper tray.
- If the image is accurate but weakly colored, print it again on the same sheet of paper with the image upside-down to ensure that it prints on the same area.
Move on to the specific press tutorial. You are done with the sublimation printer.
